Ronald "Butch" Bennett, 75, of Freehold, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at home. Born in Neptune, he has resided in Freehold his entire life. He was a supervisor for DuPont Industries in Parlin for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member the First Baptist Church of Freehold, an exempt member of Fire Engine Company #1 Freehold, and a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1956 through 1960. Butch loved softball and played for local leagues most his life.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Edith Bennett. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara; his three children, Douglas of Wall, Deborah and Richard Mulholland of Freehold, and Daria Bennett and Brendan Shaw of Bayville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Paulette of Freehold and James and Elaine of Amherst, NH; and seven grandchildren, Fallon and Michael Bennett; Kelsey, Daniel and Emily Mulholland; and Tyler and Taylor Bennett.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, Jan. 1st, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold.
