Obituary of Alma Rose Herkert

Alma Rose Herkert, (nee Parliament) while surrounded by her family, passed peacefully from this life to everlasting life on November 29, 2013. Born in Newark, NJ on August 9, 1920, Alma lived in Newark, Union, Toms River, Old Bridge and Morganville. Alma worked for many years in Valley Fair in Irvington and Union Hospital, Union. She was always quick with a joke and cheerful smile. She loved to sing and had an amazing memory for songs and a beautiful voice. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Frank Herkert, her son, Edward L. McGee, a son-in-law, Blair Rush and her granddaughter, Kelly McGee. She leaves behind but will remain in the hearts of her loving daughters Carol McGee Rush and Michelle (Mickie) Maciejak and her husband Walter Maciejak. She also leaves behind 10 beloved grandchildren; Glenn, Eric and Blair Rush, Jennifer Rush Murray, Carrie McGee, Edward McGee Jr., Victoria, Aleks, Emily and Lily Maciejak and nine great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday 12/1, from 2 to 6 PM at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. Interment will be private.
