Obituary of Mildred Rasmussen

Mildred Rasmussen, 93, of Howell, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Brandywine Assisted Living, Howell. She was born and has resided in Freehold for most of her life, moving to The Villages in Howell in 1993. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold her entire life. Mildred was a bus driver for Freehold Regional High School for many years before retiring. "Millie" met her husband "Buddy" in the fifth grade. They were married for 68 years and she was quick to disclose her secret for a long and happy marriage. Her words of advice were to "accept one another as you are." She was predeceased by her loving husband, Lawrence in 2010 and her son, Thomas in 2000. She is survived by her two children, Lawrence of Freehold and Jean Sofia of Winonah; and three grandchildren, Jennalyn, Brandon and Garrett. Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, Nov. 30th, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Youth Ministry "Crossroads" at Allentown Presbyterian Church.
