I only shared time with David at the poker table, in our monthly neighborhood male "hen" parties. They were always a time of sharing - food, laughter, fake insults with the resultant fake hurt feelings. Playing cards was on the agenda, but we weren't there to win, we were there to enjoy each others company. David has been gone from our table for sometime now, battling that to which he has finally succumbed. He has been missed, the laughter is not as great, and I personally have missed the warm welcoming handshake and bear hug I received from him each time I returned to the States. David, it will be impossible to fill your chair at the table, or to deal a hand of Jacks and Spit without thinking of you and remembering your love of family, friends and New York sports teams. We had sold some fabric to a church in Colchester CT. After about 60 days they called and said half the drapes had turned from blue to green. I called David to explain the problem. He said " it's a miracle.... Jesus turned water in to wine.... I made blue drapes green" needless to say the pastor didn't find it as funny as we did... David had a great sense of humor.... I miss him already

To the Lessem family: I just want to let you know how sorry I am to hear about David's passing. I had the pleasure of working with David for the last 10 years at Michaels Textiles! He was a gentleman in every sense of the word and would always assist me whenever I needed some help! We would always rag each other about sports and politics and see who could get each others goat! He will be greatly missed! May GOD grant you comfort and grace now and in the days ahead!
