Obituary of Katsuko Duston

Katsuko N. Duston, 87, of Manalapan, formerly of Long Branch, passed away at home on September 2, 2013 with her family. Born in Japan, she moved to America in 1955 and has resided in Manalapan for the past eight years. She was a seamstress for Waldman's Manufacturers and then Avalon Dress Manufacturing, both in Long Branch. Katsuko was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid gardener and loved to play bingo. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph, in 1992, and her son, George. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Richard Krohn of Manalapan; her grandson, Joseph and his wife, Suzanne; and two great granddaughters, Lilliana and Sophia. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 7th, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, with a memorial service at 4:30 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold.
