Hearing of the passing of Big John was a sudden shock for me. I knew John back in the days of E F Hutton, (late 1970s into early 1980s) when he was starting out in the Auditing Department. John was always full of laughter, a caring person with a heart of gold, and when he gave his word, you could count on it. My heart goes out to Cathy, whom I have never met, but I knew when John told me he was married, he had met the person that completed him the most. My condolences go out to Cathy and to the Tubman family for your loss. I too knew Andy, (back in the EF Hutton days) and I can be certain that John and Andy are taking care of business; they way they did before). John, thank you for all the inspiration and guidance you have given to me through the years. Thank you for the laughter and kindness you shared with the world. You will be missed.

I am saddened to hear the news of Big John's passing. I know that John touched many people in his life. John was one of my first real bosses after college and he became more than a boss but a friend for many years. I will never forget his love of movies and all things John Wayne. John and Andy are back together again, they were a good team. Good cop/bad cop -we know whom was which. I will always thank John, Andy and Gary for helping Joe Conway and I become (productive) members of society. God Bless John.

To John and his family: I have very good memories from your first trip to Beverly Hills with the team, your smile (always ready for a colleague) and your willingness to help and learn every day. I'm sad to know that you will no longer be on the 21st floor and we won't cross paths in the cafeteria, but I'm sure all those who had the chance to meet you, even briefly, will agree with me: we will miss you.

To you John T. Tubman, to the older brother that I never had. To those whom you had touched, you will surely be missed. I will miss your sense of humor, your quick wit, your intellect, your guidance, your direction and the love of one brother to another. Now you can enjoy the fine wine and the eternal swimming pool that the Good Father has waiting for you in Heaven my friend. Farewell old friend, farewell.

My deepest sympathies to everyone touched by this loss, most especially his wife Kathy. John was one of the most unique and impressive personalities I have ever known. I hadn't seen him in many years, and yet his presence remained constantly in the background of my life. He impacted my young adulthood like no other, not just as my first boss - but as a great friend, personal advisor, and finally as best man at our wedding. His larger than life personality confidently commanded those around him with a sharp wit, tremendous people skills, quick intellect, warmth, and a unique worldview. He made us laugh, think, work, and - most importantly - care about one another. A truely inspiring character. Memory of him will always loom large in my heart.

I am still in shock and deeply saddened by the news of John's sudden passing. Although we saw each other less frequently as the years passed, I've always considered him a very dear and close friend. He was the best man at my wedding, though I'm not sure he ever forgave me for making him wear a tuxedo. Our deepest condolences to Kathy, family and friends. Knowing JT, he's already met Andy in heaven and has figured out a more ingenious way to get things done.
