Obituary of Dorothy Madeline D'Amore

Dorothy Madeline D'Amore, 88, of Marlboro, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at home. Dorothy was born on April 18, 1925 in Newark, NJ and had previously resided in Irvington and Clark before relocating to Marlboro in 2008. She worked for 32 years for Pathmark as a head bookkeeper and front end manager. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; her treasured son, Joseph; a beloved longtime companion, Rocco Ferrarelli; siblings, Lucille, Joseph (Freddy), and Robert. Dorothy is survived by her son, James of Marlboro; loving daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Robert Paton of Freehold; sisters, Margarett Gutekunst of Overland Park, KS, Frances and husband, Vincent Luongo of Toms River; and sister-in-law Victoria D'Amore of Lakewood; granddaughters, Karen and husband, Jeff Goldman; Lisa and husband, Brian Del Vecchio; two greatly adored great-grandchildren, Jack and Ryan Goldman; and extended family Kenneth Paton and Lori Foultz; Jacqueline and Frank Lemma; honorary great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Junior, Kayla, Frankie, Leilani and Kaiyan; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, June 7th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan (732.972.8484). A Eucharistic Service will be celebrated on Saturday, June 8th, at 9:30 AM at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, 549 Route 520, Marlboro. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.
