Obituary of John Aloysius Tyrrell

John Aloysius "Jack" Tyrrell, 86, of Freehold Township, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2012, at home with his loving family. Born in Jersey City, he has resided in Freehold Township since 1971. He was a World War II Army veteran. Jack was a sergeant for the Port Authority of NY and NJ for many years before retiring and then worked as a carrier for the Freehold Postal Service. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold. Jack enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy, his sister, Dolores Schroepfer, and son-in-law, Victor Giglio. Jack is survived by loving wife of 60 years, Kathryn; his treasured ten children and their spouses, Maryanne (Fritz) Barth, Susan (Mark) Mittleman, Linda Giglio, Kathy (Al) Perez, Denise Terrigno, Elaine (Jimmy) Plasteras, Judy (Jim) Louro, John (Sherry) Tyrrell, Barbara Tyrrell and Missy Tyrrell; his sister, Marie and brother-in-law, Pat O'Brien; his sister, Arlene and brother-in-law, Leo Malone; his beloved aunt, Rose Donahue; sister-in-law, Marilyn Kiely; 25 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to visit on today, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, at 9:30 AM, at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Should friends desire, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Operation Smile.
