Obituary of Helen J. Kozabo

Helen J. Kozabo, 89, of Colts Neck, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at home with her family. Born in Scobeyville (Colts Neck), she has resided in Colts Neck her entire life. She was a devout communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Colts Neck. She was an LPN at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank working on 4 South for 20 years before retiring. Helen spent her entire life helping and caring for other people, not only family but friends in her church and community. She was a member of the Martha Mary Guild, Holy Spirits, as well as the Colts Neck Fire Co. #1 Auxiliary and Colts Neck Senior Citizens.
She was predeceased by her husband, William, in 2007, and her siblings, Maryann Malyski, Margaret Buckalew, Anna Dobrowolski and Joseph Malyski. Helen is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and James Tanner of Rumson; her niece and her husband, Terry and Robert Dreeke of Neptune; many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, whom she deeply loved; and her dedicated caretaker, Zoia Kapianidze. The family would like to thank Dr. Harold Chafkin from Medical Health who cared for Helen for over 45 years.
Friends and family are invited to visit Tuesday, May 28th, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, at St. Mary's Church in Colts Neck. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 29th, at 9:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold. Arrangements are under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Mary's Social Concerns.
