Thank you all for supporting our family at this very sad time and I don't just want to mourn my mom's passing but also celebrate my mom's life . My mom had a great life she had family & friends who loved her and that meant a lot to her.She also had a great outlook on life cause she always said tomorrow is another day & the sun will come out tomorrow so that's why I called her Annie. My mom was beautiful inside & out and was the kindest , gentliest soul you'll ever know & the most unselfish person you'll ever know cause she helped everyone before herself, she had a heart of gold, she cooked food , gave clothing and any money she had left to anyone who needed it , she put everyone first instead of herself and everyone that met her was a friend for life. She really got pleasure in seeing other people happy by something she did for them and didn't want anything in return. She retired when she was 80 and worked as the cookie lady in a grammar school grades 4 thru 6 so this new kid starts his new school and every day for lunch when he bought a snack he would insist on tippng my mom but she told him that she couldn't take tips so she took those tips and saved them for 3 years until he graduated from 6 grade and gave him back all the money and that was my mom.She also was the strongest woman I know, with this horrible disease coursing thru her she had to cook, do the laundry and most of all I guess it's something when you get older but she had to sweep outside and you couldn't tell her no. She was also the funniest person I know, she made us laugh all the time, you know my mom always had to dressed impectable , always put her makeup on everyday and every thurs had to go to the " beauty parlor" so she wasn't feeling great 1 week and couldn't go so we get the catscan done and we know had to go to the Oncologist so I make an appt for a Thursday and she wouldn't go and I said why ma , she says I can't go so I'm thinking she scared to go and I said why again and she says to me "cause I have to go to the beauty parlor 1st "so she went on Wednesday. In her later years like most of us her hair was thinning and had to wear like a hair piece that she use to wear all the time so now let's jump to the day of the surgery, we are in the pre-op room and the surgeon says that the hair piece had to be removed before surgery so my sister took it off, we kissed her before going in for surgery so now after her major surgery where they almost lost her in the OR she's now in ICU on a ventilator for 5/6 days and I was there the day they were to take her off the ventilator hoping she would breath on her own and she did so I go into the room she has on oxygen and I say how u feeling ma and she speaks and I couldn't hear cause it was very raspy/froggy from the tubes from the ventilator so I go closer to hear and the 1st thing she says to me is "what did Maria do with my hair"..I was hysterical . She got me a birthday present in January, she gave me an ID bracelet just like my father used to wear and she had it engraved with "To the man you've become and the son you'll always be" and I will never take it off . I want to thank God that I am grateful for having my mom for all these years thru good times & bad cause some people do not have that opportunity so I am very grateful for the time we spent together and all the fond memories. My mom always love to be dressed to the nines like I said before so I know she is walking down the red carpet to the pearly gates and waiting at the gates is her love of her life my dad Mickey so now she can make everyone laugh and he can sing a little tune..
In the hospital you asked me when you were going home well ma you are home now and even though my heart is broken Mom rest in peace my love, you will be missed until my last breath, I love you will all my heart & soul and on behalf of my brother Dominick & my sister Maria and my love Joanie we want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts
