Obituary of Ann Catanese Ellis

Ann Catanese Ellis, 90, of Matawan, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 25 and 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 10 AM at Saint Gabriel's Catholic Historic Church, Route 520, Marlboro. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Ann will be remembered for her selfless love of her four children whom she raised after losing her late husband, Salvatore, who passed away at the young age of 28, and also for her wonderful sense of humor and love of life. She is survived by her beloved children, Cathy (Tom) Russo, Doreen (Isidoro) Macchiarella, the late Joann Catanese and Salvatore (Olga) Catanese; cherished grandchildren, Roseann (Alan) Brown, Michele Macchiarella, Doreen (Jerry) Colorio, Michael Macchiarella, Thomas (Koleen) Russo, James Gilmartin and Stephanie Catanese, her beautiful great-grandchildren, Victoria, Christopher, Ava, Alexander and Daniel and great-great-grandchildren, Brayden and Isabella. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
