Obituary of Nicholas George Albanese

Nicholas G. Albanese, 82, of Freehold, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at home. Born in Brooklyn, he has resided in Freehold for the past 14 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and recipient of two bronze service stars. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Freehold and a member of the Freehold VFW. Nicholas was a community leader. He was one of the founding fathers of the Children's Ragamuffin Parade in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and served on the Board of Directors. He also served as an Institutional Advisor for the Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose; his three children and their spouses, John and Sandra of Dix Hills, NY, Mary and Fred Fowler of Freehold and Joan and Sal Vicidomini of Freehold; his sister, Carol Palmieri of Staten Island; and six grandchildren, David, Matthew, Carissa, Marc, Anthony and Michael. Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM., at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Monday at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Entombment will follow at Maplewood Mausoleum, Freehold.
