Obituary of Salvatore Anzalone

Salvatore Anzalone, 72, of Monroe Township died at home on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Born in Palermo, Sicily he moved to Monroe 15 years ago. Prior to his retirement, Salvatore owned and operated Salvatore's Barber Salon, Battery Park City, NY. He was known as the Barber of Wall Street, and as the Goldman-Sachs in-house barber. Salvatore is survived by his loving wife Joanne of 44 years; his son, Frank of Monroe, his daughter and son-in-law; Daniela and Jonathan Herbst of Staten Island, NY., his granddaughter; Giovanna Rosa Herbst and four siblings, Concetta Anzaldi of Monroe, Giovanni of Brooklyn, NY, Peter and his wife Toni of Brooklyn, NY, and Francesca Pecoraro of Sicily, Italy. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, August 1st, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:15 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Old Bridge. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.
