Obituary of William Albert Stockel

William Albert Stockel, 87 of Manalapan entered into eternal rest on Monday June 18, 2018. He was born in Jersey City and resided in Manalapan for over 50 years. He started his banking career at Colonial Trust in New York City and retired as an Assistant Vice President at National Westminster. William served honorably in the Korean War from 1951 to 1952 before returning to the United States where he met his wife Kathleen. They were married 37 years. He was recently recognized by senior Republic of Korea military officials for his service in the Korean War. Bill was an avid golfer, youth soccer fan, and devoted Blue Claws ticket holder. Bill was inducted into the Manalapan Recreation Hall of Fame. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and lived life to the fullest. He is predeceased by his wife, Kathleen; his mother and father Fridolin and Katarina. William is survived by his son Christopher and wife Lisa; his daughter Carol; his son William and wife Leslie; his daughter Noreen and husband Bob; his son Timothy and wife Olivia; his brother Richard, and his nine grandchildren; Callyn, Eddie, Jeffrey, Jeremy, Trinity, Liam, Kathleen, Paige, and Samantha, as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to visit on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 4:00-8:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.
