Obituary of Margaret Saker

Margaret A. Saker (Peggy), 83, of Freehold died on Monday April 16, 2018 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Jackson. She passed peacefully with her son and daughter in law by her side. She was born in Long Branch, and resided in Freehold her entire life. She was a member of the Reformed Church, Freehold, where she sang in both Junior and Senior Choir; and she taught a Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Round-Towners, a group of her friends from high school. She retired from the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management, where she was head secretary for 42 years. She loved old Boro Freehold, and Manasquan Beach.
She was predeceased by her parents Chester and Harriet (Sherman) Davison; and her husband George W. Saker, Jr. in 2010. She is survived by her son Glenn and daughter in law Patty of Jackson; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn (husband Adam), Alex (wife Jessica), Connor (fiancé Kacie); and great grandchild, Barnet; her grandchildren were the loves of her life. She is also survived by her brother and his wife Ray and Margot Davison of Merrells Inlet, South Carolina; and their children Tracey and Scott; and an aunt, Ann Sherman Walls of Chestertown, MD; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E. Main Street, Freehold, on Wednesday April 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. There will be a funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM; followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
