Obituary of Gregory C McGowan

Greg McGowan age 58 of Reisterstown Maryland passed away on March 29, 2018. He was born in Long Branch NJ in 1959 and raised in Holmdel where he graduated from Holmdel HS. Greg was predeceased by his Father, Gregory L McGowan and his mother Mary Hulsart-McGowan. He is survived by his daughter Taylor McGowan and her mother Lisa Bandarenko of Westminster Maryland, his partner Deby Brooking of Reisterstown Maryland, his brothers Terence and his wife Barbra, Kevin and his wife Renee, and his sister JoAnne McGowan-Gutsch and her husband Mike. Greg was a graduate of Springfield College (Massachusetts) where he played both football and baseball, after which he held various positions in sports administration. He worked in player personnel and scouting for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL) and as an assistant coach at Jersey City State College and Southern Methodist University. He had a passion for coaching and working with student-athletes, and even in declining health he assisted in high school programs in Maryland. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Freeman Funeral Home 47 East Main St. Freehold on Saturday, March 31st, 2018 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
