Dearest Lisa and Bruce, We are so saddened to hear about your mom’s passing. I know these past few months have been even harder than usual on her physically but it was amazing to hear what a trooper she was under the circumstances. As difficult as it was, I'm sure it was comforting to know that she was able to let go peacefully with you (Lisa) by her side. You and your mom had a wonderful mother/daughter relationship that you often said you wished we would all have with our mothers. You were truly blessed to have that bond with her as well as having all the wonderful memories of her that will stay in your heart always. Even though I didn’t get the pleasure of meeting Helen in person for one reason or another, I felt like I knew her so well with all the wonderful stories you shared with me. It was also so wonderful to have a connection with her personally, both of us being East Side High Alumnus, different years of course! We got to share our yearbooks with one another, compared them and reminisced about the good old days. Then she graciously thanked me for sharing mine with her. I regret that we didn’t make it to our 100-year ESHS anniversary celebration! In hindsight, I should’ve made more of an effort to go and taken her with me, no matter how difficult her physical disabilities were! In life there are always regrets, this is one of mine now that she’s gone. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time! Rest in peace Helen, you will be sorely missed!
