Obituary of Edward J McNamara

Edward J. McNamara, 84, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, after an extended illness. Born in Roselle, he and his wife, Barbara raised a family in Manalapan before retiring to Cocoa Beach, Florida. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as an electrical engineer with AT&T Bell Laboratories for over 35 years, and his work earned him high praise and several patents. He is survived by his four children, Jane, Susan, Kenneth and Thomas; and three grandchildren, Daniel, Lily and Lucy. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 29th, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, November 30th, at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Englishtown. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan, If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the American Lung Association.
