Cynthia, a lady of grace, class and style lost her battle to cancer on Nov 27, 2012 at Hospice of New Jersey.
Born in NYC, her family lived on Staten Island before moving to N.J. Cynthia attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in English. Cynthia and her husband, Tom lived in Princeton and later moved to Manalapan, NJ where Cynthia started her own catering business. This venture led to her position at Delicious Orchards,Colts Neck, NJ, as their Specialty Foods Manager, where she was a wealth of knowledge. In her 27 year career at Delicious Orchards, she was instrumental in the creation and development of what Delicious Orchards is today. As part of the DO family, one of her many contributions was the publishing of the original and 100th Anniversary Delicious Orchards cookbook.
Cynthia's passion in life was food. So much, that she successfully made every recipe in the Julia Child's cookbook - even the duck!! Cynthia was an "awesome" friend and teacher, to all who knew her. She was an avid gardener and horticulturist. Cynthia never met a hydrangea, she didn't love.
She was predeceased by her parents, Maria and Daniel Barone and her husband of 37 years, Tom. Cynthia is survived by two sons. Christopher and his wife Kristina and son Stephen. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Larissa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Jason's Dreams for Kids, 20 Monmouth Street, Red Bank, NJ www.jdfk.org.
