Obituary of Salvatore Farrugia

Saviour (Salvatore) Farrugia, 88, passed away on January 9, 2018. Born in Malta, and raised in Southampton, England, he became a United States citizen in 1966 and has been a resident of Manalapan for 47 years. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Council 5903 of the Knights of Columbus; and a longtime member of the Carpenters' Union. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Edward. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Giarrusso); his son and daughter in law Paul and Christine, his daughter JoAnn Vega, and his daughter and son in law Donna and James Savage. He is also survived by his siblings Eric, Mary, Phil, Janet, and Alfred; and his grandchildren Anthony, Gianna, Emily, Christian, Savannah, Paul, Charlotte, and Jasmine. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, January 11 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan, followed by burial at Old Tennent Cemetery.
