Obituary of Athena Stryker

Athena Stryker, 95, Freehold Township died on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at home. Born in Neptune, she was a lifelong resident of Freehold. Prior to her retirement she was the head secretary at the Monmouth County Probation Department. Athena was a mentor to many, whose clear message, advice and wisdom came naturally. She truly loved people and had a great sense of humor in her expression. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and those she touched with her unique positive attitude. She was predeceased by her husband William J. in 1996 and her daughter Cathy Ann Saltamach in 2009. Athena is survived by her son William and his wife Katherine of Little Silver; son-in-law, John Saltamach of Liverpool, NY; 4 grandchildren, Charles, William, Sarah, and Kevin, two great-granddaughters, Kayla and Chelsea and her great-great granddaughter, Catherine. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 22nd from 9-12 PM with a funeral service at 12 PM at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold.
