Obituary of Stephen J Bartos jr

Stephen J. Bartos, Jr, 90, of Manalapan passed away at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Carteret, NJ, he was a graduate of Woodbridge High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from Seton Hall University. Stephen served in the Navy during WWII and was a member of the V.F.W. He was a former bowler and baseball coach for the South Plainfield PONY league. An avid golfer, Stephen got his second hole-in-one in 2015 at 88 years old. He thoroughly enjoyed life. Stephen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Stephen was predeceased by his sister Joan Adams. He is survived by his wife Roma; daughter Patricia McGarrity and son in law David; son Peter Bartos; daughter Jeannie Vail and son in law Frank; stepsons Scott and Robert Arazy; grandchildren Michael, Matthew and Elizabeth McGarrity, Stephen Bartos, Catherine, Jaclyn and Mark Vail; and six great-grandchildren. The viewing will be Monday, December 4th, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ. A funeral mass will be Tuesday, December 5th at 10:30 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
