Obituary of Ellen Joy Herman

Ellen Herman, 74, of Freehold, passed away suddenly on September 12, 2017 at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold. Ellen was born to Samuel and Nettie Sandler in Brooklyn, NY. Before her retirement, Ellen worked at Woodbridge Developmental Center for 27 years as their payroll supervisor. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ellen was predeceased by her parents, and her brother Lawrence. She is survived by her ex-husband and friend Mike, son Nowell (Heidi) Herman of Cedarville, and her daughter Jill (Steve) Infanti of Jackson; her grandchildren, William (Candace), Roc, Ashley, and Nicholas; her great-grandchildren, Hayley and Emma; her sister Margie of Kokomo, IN; and her sister-in-law Iris of Seattle, WA.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Friday, September 15 from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Marlboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 210, Marlton, NJ or www.alz.org/nj.
