Obituary of Mary Rose McDonald

Mary R. McDonald, 93, of Howell, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Imperial Health Center in Neptune. She was the loving wife of Eugene McDonald. The couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on May 24, 2016. Born in Jersey City, NJ, she married her husband Eugene in 1947 where they lived for ten years before moving with their family to Freehold in 1957. After her husband's retirement, they moved to Murrell's Inlet, SC where they lived for 17 years before returning to Freehold. Mary was an active member of the Catholic Daughters and the Holy Rosary Society for over 50 years. Mary is most remembered for hosting numerous dinners for her family on all holidays. Mary's kind and gentle nature were exhibited throughout her lifetime. Her family and friends were Mary's passion and delight. Mary was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Julia; and her loving husband, Eugene. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Manzo of Brick; her sons Eugene, and his wife Darlie, of Las Vegas, NV; and Michael, and his companion, Helene, of Freehold; her daughter Kathleen Economos, of Spring Lake; two granddaughters and their husbands, Christine and John Tacopino of Freehold, and their children Amelia, Vinnie, and Charlotte; and Kelly and Eric Kosker, and their daughter Kayla, of Toms River.
