Obituary of Reverend Frederick Mold jr
Please share a memory of Reverend to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The Reverend Frederick Mold, Jr., 90, of East Windsor passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on June 16 in Compassionate Care Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, one day shy of his 91st birthday. Born in Jersey City, he was a resident of Manasquan for many years before residing at Meadow Lakes in East Windsor. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, Pharmacist's Mate 3rd Class. Rev. Mold graduated from Muhlenberg College and earned a Masters of Divinity from New Brunswick Theological Seminary. He served as pastor for parishes of The Reformed Church in America in Middletown (1955-1958), Freehold (1958-1979), and Tinton Falls (1986-1991, pastor emeritus). He was Vice President of New Brunswick Theological Seminary (1978-1985), where he also taught Reformed Church Studies in practical theology, church polity and pastoral administration until 2002, when he became adjunct professor emeritus. For The Reformed Church in America, Rev. Mold was stated clerk of the Classis of New Brunswick (1957-1992) and the Regional Synod of the Mid-Atlantics (1990-2010), and served on The Board of North American Missions and the General Synod Commission of Judicial Business.
He and his loving wife, Doris, celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage on June 6. They were well known for meticulously planned dinner parties held over many decades in their home with gourmet meals they lovingly prepared and good wine they loved to share. These were always warm gatherings with spirited conversation and laughter in abundance. Their annual New Year's Eve dinner party with dear friends was always a memorable celebration. They traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada, as well to Thailand, Russia, the Caribbean and many countries in Europe. More than his love of travel, Rev. Mold loved spending time with his family whether in his home or visiting them and supporting their artistic and educational endeavors wherever they lived.
Rev. Mold was predeceased by his daughter Caryn. He is survived by his wife Doris; son, David and his wife, Rebecca Fasanello, and daughter, Lynne Mold-Haynes and her husband, Keith, all of New York City.
