John Joseph Sansevere, 88, of Toms River died on Thursday at the Arbors Care Center. Born and raised in Jersey City he resided in Canada for 8 years before moving to Toms River in 1990. John was a communicant of St. Maximillian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church in Toms River. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement he was a Jersey City Police Officer for 28 years.
John was predeceased by his wife Joan in 2004 and his brother Robert. He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law; Deacon Stephen (Retired JCPD) and Susanne, Larry and Ann and one grandchild; Michael.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan on Sunday, April 2nd from 3 to 7 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Gabriel’s Main Church, Route 79; Marlboro. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either The Lustgarten Foundation
