Obituary of Gerard J. Petronella

Gerard J. Petronella, age 85, of Manahawkin died Monday, February 27, 2017 at Deborah Heart & Lung Center of Browns Mills, NJ. Mr. Petronella was born August 10, 1931 in Newark, NJ. He served in the Korean War from 1952-1954. He was employed by the Postal Service of the Kilmer Facility in Edison, NJ. He is the son of the late Samuel and the late Lucy (Luccarelli) Petronella. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Josephine Petronella; his three children and their spouses, Joann Pino of Piscataway, Linda and Steven Demola of Manalapan, and Steven and Justina Petronella of Clark; and his seven grandchildren Jennifer, Jeffery, Stephanie, Michele, Dona, Athena and Steven. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 2nd from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:15 am on Friday, March 3rd at St. Thomas More RC Church, Manalapan. Burial will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
