Obituary of Mary Anne Burke Ker

Mary Anne Burke Ker, 95, of Marlboro, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, January 29th at CentraState Hospital in Freehold, New Jersey. Mary Anne attended elementary school in Marlboro and graduated from Freehold High School in 1938. She attended Drexel University in Philadelphia. She went to work at Fort Monmouth from 1941 to 1945. While there, she met and married William Malbert Ker, who served in the Army in World War 2. Mrs. Ker spent summers on Long Beach Island. She was a member of the Old Brick Reformed Church in the Marlboro area. Mrs. Ker played duplicate bridge into her 90's, and achieved the status of Life master.
Mary Anne was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Lotta Reid Burke; her husband William Ker; and her son, William Balfour Ker (Jeep), who died in 2008 at age 60. She is survived by her sons Bruce Malbert Ker, 67, of Durban, South Africa and John Waldron Ker, 66, of North Hills, California, and Bruce's daughters, Taylor Marie and Tia.
Friends are invited to visit at Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro on Friday February 3rd from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, with a service immediately following in the church. Burial will be at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan. In lieu of flowers, kindly send donations to Old Brick Reformed Church. All arrangements are being handled by Freeman Funeral Home 47 East Main Street, Freehold.
