Obituary of Jennie Pensabene

Jean Pensabene, most recently of Keansburg, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Born in Manhattan, married and raised five children in Brooklyn, worked as a bank teller. Formerly a resident of Greenbriar in Marlboro, NJ. There she was involved in planning and participating in bus trips to Atlantic City, bowling, bocce, Senior Olympics, and was a vice president for DEBORAH. She was a parishioner and extraordinary minister at St. Gabriel's Church in Marlboro. Jean devoted her life to her family, her friends, her church, and her community. She was always the "go to girl" to get things done, and she did it with pleasure and flair. Although her loving presence will be missed, her quality of character and joy for life will remain in our hearts always. Jean was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Jack T. Pensabene, to whom she was married for 57 years. Jean is survived by her daughter, Carol Walkiewicz and her husband Steve; daughter, Yvonne Yngstrom and her husband Ken; daughter, Jo Ann Scollo and her husband Sal; daughter, Theresa Glynn and her husband Mike; son, Jack Pensabene and his wife Joann; Eleven grandchildren, Lauren and her husband Pete, Craig, Erik, Korey, James and his wife Casi, Andrew and his wife Lindsay, Lucas, Alexa, Jessica, Genna and her husband Christopher, Joseph and three great-grandchildren, Brian, Jonathan and Matthew, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved completely. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 24th from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A liturgy mass will be celebrated at The Church of St. Gabriel, 100 N Main St, Marlboro on Wednesday, January 25th at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Salvation Army (newjersey.salvationarmy.org), or The Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or to a charity of your choice.
