Obituary of Robert Szeles
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert "Pop" Szeles, 86, of Manalapan, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Applewood Estates Healthcare Facility, Freehold Township. Born in South Amboy, New Jersey, he lived in Fords and Edison before moving to Manalapan in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan. Robert was known as Manalapan's "Pop" and was a proud supporter of Manalapan Baseball. "You knew the game was official when Meemom and Pop came down with their chairs. Manalapan has lost their greatest fan." His greatest loves were his family, his three grandchildren, and his many Manalapan "grandkids". He loved them all. Robert was a Navy Seabee and past member of the Yorktowne Club of Manalapan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (nee Wallace) from Metuchen; his brothers, Jack Szeles and Pete Miller; and sister, Virginia Tomasheski. He is survived by his brother, Dr, Michael Miller; his daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Wayne Kreiger; three grandchildren, Kyle, Brittany, and Nicholas; and nieces and nephews; and many friends
Family and friends may visit Friday, January 20th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan.
