Richard E. Pancoe, 85, of Hazlet, passed away on January 16th, at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided there until moving to the Covered Bridge section of Manalapan in 1979, moving to Hazlet in 2014. He graduated from St. Mary's High School, Perth Amboy, in 1950. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and attained the rank of Sergeant. Richard was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a service worker for Merck and Co., Rahway, before retiring in 1993 after 20 years. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, and former communicant of both St. Mary's and Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Churches, Perth Amboy. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Paul H. and Stella M. (Andryszewski) Pancoe; his siblings, Louise M. and Paul T; and nephew, David. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy; his nephew and his wife, Paul and Mary, and Julie, nephew David's wife; five grandnephews, Joshua, Jason, Luke, Matthew and Joseph, all of CA; his goddaughters, Barbara Pajak and Louise Johnson; and many cousins. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at later date to be announced with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arnold Walter Nursing Home: 622 S. Laurel Avenue, Hazlet, NJ 07730 or Meridian Hospice of Monmouth County: 1340 Campus Parkway Suite A3, Neptune, NJ 07753. Arrangements are under the direction of the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan.
