Obituary of George A. Mango

George A. Mango, 87 of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. George was born and raised in Plainfield. He settled in Freehold Township with his family in 1966 after being transferred by his employer, Bell Laboratories, where he worked as a draftsman. In 1986, he retired and relocated to Florida. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country honorably during World War II seeing action in the Philippines. George was a devoted husband and proud father. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching and playing sports. He especially enjoyed playing the game of tennis. George was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Teresa Mango. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Raffaella; daughters, Georgiann (Thomas) Moroney of Freehold, and Patricia Mango of Howell; son, Frank (MaryLynn) Mango of West Long Branch; sisters, Louise (Michael) Frattaruolo, Mildred (Ralph) Roberts, and Luella (Robert) DeVine; and six grandchildren, Tommy, Liam, Kimberly, Katie, Allegra, and Alex. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 2 to 6 PM, with a funeral service at 5 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. Interment will be Monday at 10 AM at William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice House Brookside, Palm Harbor, FL. www.thehospice.org/Special-Pages/Donate.
