Obituary of Harold P. Tobias

Harold P. Tobias, almost 84, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away January 3, 2017 after 9 months of trying as hard as he could to overcome what his body threw at him .During that time, he never complained (which worried his family) and continued to show his great sense of humor unless the Giants lost Harold grew up in Old Bridge, New Jersey on a chicken farm with his parents Sam and Ann and his brother Sidney and lots of relatives nearby. He spent his army years in Fort Smith, Arkansas, raised a family in Freehold, New Jersey with Evelyn Tobias, got divorced (hey it happens), met Ann Zavacky, got married and lived for 35 years in Colts Neck, New Jersey. Harold spent all his professional time in the electrical contracting business and also started various businesses over the years. He and Ann moved to Myrtle Beach in 2007 where he enjoyed his retirement years in a great setting with really nice weather. Harold is survived by his wife Ann Tobias of 44 years, his three children, Cari Tobias Gross and son-in-law Gary Gross, David Tobias and his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Micheels, and Charles Tobias and daughter-in-law Jo Ann Zlotkin Tobias. He was a character who will be sorely missed by his 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, his brother Sidney Tobias and sister-in-law Mary Ann Tobias. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold.
