Arthur Lewis, 71, of Freehold Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 17, 2016 at CareOne in Holmdel. Born in Neptune, he has resided in Freehold all of his life. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the New Jersey Department of Transportation for 23 years. Arthur was also a volunteer fireman for the Freehold Boro Fire Department many years ago.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents, Everett Lewis and Sarah Heiser and two brothers, Harry and Everett Lewis. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; two sons, John Arthur and Christopher James; sister-in-law, Lois Montgomery; brother-in-law, Gary Montgomery and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 2 to 6 P.M. with a funeral service during the visitation at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2310 Highway 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736-1400.
