Jack and I shared a common love for the game of basketball. He was a well known NYC High School Coach, but I got to know him as a great father who loved watching Matt and PJ play...both are amazing players and fine young men. On the day that he passed, Jack was on his way to assist in a clinic (without pay). I will miss standing/sitting next to him at our local gyms. RIP Coach.

Sorry to hear about Jack's passing. He was a real good man. Great coach, father, husband, brother and friend. He made basketball fun for me and Brandon and we will never forget our time together with him at JCC Basketball. Jack is a basketball legend and rightly so. He will be missed by all. My heartfelt condolences to the Ringel family on the loss of your beloved Jack. I first met Jack in 1967-68 at the El Caribe swim club in Brooklyn ,where Jack was my "counselor"in the camp.It was there I was first introduced to the game of basketball, and have been involved as a player and referee for the past 49 years. The first game I officiated as a high school PSAL varsity official happened to be a game Grady Hs was playing ,and Jack was the head coach.Throughout the years of officiating games that Jack coached ,and his sons participated in ,I always listened to and respected Jacks thoughts and opinions as to "calls"that were made ,some he agreed with ,others not so much.We are all better people because we were fortunate enough to have known Jack. My deepest condolences.Bruce Schechter

We are heartbroken and devastated by the sad news of coach Jack's passing. Coach Jack coached our son Daniel as part of his falcon's team at CJB for three seasons and during that time we grew to love and respect him for his ability to touch our kids as only he knew how. With a quiet resilience, and a sense of strength and discipline he taught our kids perseverance and unity and surprisingly enough they listened to his every word. They respected their coach and believed in his every word when it came to a play. And I am certain that my son will carry what he learned from coach, to persevere and play as a team and to give it all you have always. Our deepest condolences to our beloved coach's family, to his wife and his children of whom he spoke often with pride in his eyes. May you soar high with the angels coach. You'll be greatly missed.

Jack was a good friend and a pleasure to know. Through coaching with him in the Maccabi games I learned what a sense of humor you must have to coach young Jews!! My condolences to his family and friends.
