Obituary of Bernard J Burke

Bernard J. Burke, 77, of Manalapan, passed away on October 16, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center. Born in Wilkes-Barre and raised in Ashley, Pennsylvania, he lived in Sayreville before settling in Manalapan 30 years ago. After researching ancestry, his family was from Germany and Ireland. He was a veteran of the Air Force serving from 1956 to 1960. Bernard was the Director of Development at SIAC in NYC before retiring in 2001. Bernard’s joy in life were his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph. Bernard is survived by his wife Loriz; son Patrick, son Michael and wife Colleen, son David; and grandchildren Owen, Conor, Declan, Matthew and Brian. Visitation is Wednesday, October 19th, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. The funeral mass will be at St. Gabriel’s Historic Church, Marlboro on October 20th at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, Marlboro.
