Ernest Liberati, 86, of Freehold, died surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, he formerly resided in Manalapan for 43 years before settling in Freehold 10 years ago. Ernest was a 1953 Graduate of University of North Carolina where he attended on a football scholarship. He was one of the co-founders of the original Manalapan Recreation Department and Manalapan Youth Football League. He was also a US Army veteran serving from 1953 - 1955.
He is survived by his loving wife Rita of 56 years; daughter Lisa and husband Richard Johnston, daughter Maria Ryslik; son Ernest, Jr. and wife Patricia, son Edward and eight grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Friday, August 19th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 20th at 10 am, St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Manalapan.
