Obituary of Anthony Camardella

Anthony Camardella, 88, of Manalapan, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold surrounded by family. Born in Scranton, PA, he resided in Edison for 50 years before settling in Manalapan. Anthony served in the Air Force from 1946 – 1949 and earned an electrical engineering degree from the Newark College of Engineering. He was employed by Western Electric for 35 years, AT&T technologies and Nynex, NYC. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Edison Oak Tree Seniors. Anthony played piano, telling jokes and collecting trains.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Carol of 60 years. Anthony is survived by his daughters Cynthia Maginnis and husband Nelson of North Hanover, Cheryl Hlavenka and husband Lawrence of Manalapan; siblings Laura Callela, John Camardella, Gloria Lenakos and Marie Oljenik; grandchildren Lawrence & Kristy Hlavenka, Jacqueline Hlavenka and Michelle Maginnis & W.Tyler Maginnis and great grandson William Hlavenka.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, July 18th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. The funeral mass is Tuesday, July 19th at 10:00 am Our Lady of Mercy, Englishtown. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
