Obituary of Joseph J Capetola

Joseph J. Capetola, 90, of Manalapan, passed away on Saturday, June 18th, 2016, at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold. He was born in Bayonne, and resided in Jersey City before moving to Manalapan. Joe was a WWII Navy Veteran, stationed in the Philippines on the USS Hidatsa. He worked as a claims investigator for Lehigh Valley Railroad and then became a claims director for Conrail and NJ Transit. He was an avid tennis player, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Ruth in 2000; and his two brothers, Rocco and John Capetola. He is survived by his two children and their spouses, Nancy and Thomas Barkalow, and Joseph and Julie Capetola; six siblings, Joseph Testa, Anthony Capetola, Antoinette DiPaolo, Vincenza Mosulak, Anna Rogalski, and Pilomena Pica; and 5 grandchildren, Thor, Cole, Joseph, Christina and Jack. Family and friends are invited to visit Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E Main St, Freehold, on Wednesday, June 22nd, from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
