Obituary of Joel Leon Scolnick

Joel L. Scolnick, 67, of Freehold Township, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Newark, he lived in Maplewood before moving to Freehold 31 years ago. He owned and operated Original Electric in Freehold and recently worked at Home Depot, Freehold. Joel was a charter member of the Maplewood First Aid Squad and a lifetime member of the Freehold First Aid Squad. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Kelly; his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Marc Goldman; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven and Ellen and Bruce and Dale; grandson, Jacob; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 12th, at 1:00 PM, at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. Interment will be private. The family would appreciate donations to Freehold First Aid.
