Obituary of Francis Charles McGill

Francis C. McGill, 84, of Manalapan, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at home with his family. Born in New York City, Frank grew up in the Bronx and moved to Manalapan in 1965. He was a Korean War veteran, who proudly served three years in Germany with the U.S. Air Force. He then attended Fordham University, receiving his B.S. degree in accounting in 1959. Frank was an accounting manager for the Chemstrand Corp. as well as the Canada Dry Corp. in NYC, followed by the Philips Lighting Corp. in Somerset, retiring in 1993. Frank was a communicant of St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan. He was married to his loving wife Joan for 52 years until she passed away in 2011. He is survived by his two sons, Francis of Plantation, FL. and Paul of Readington, NJ; and siblings, Jerry, Charles and Mary Conti. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, Jan. 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick.
