Obituary of Mary T. Kochinski
Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary T. Kochinski, 94, of Manalapan, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born and raised in Windber, PA, she moved to Jersey City when she was 17, where she lived for most of her life and raised her three children. Upon retiring, she moved to Manalapan, where she resided for the past 20 years. During World War II, Mary worked as a secretary in the Federal Shipbuilding yard in Kearny, NJ. Following the war, she worked at Bankers Trust Company in New York City. Mary was also a school lunch program supervisor in the Jersey City School District for many years before retiring.
Her passions in life included tending to her rose garden during her time in Jersey City, cheering on the New York Yankees, taking trips to Atlantic City and cooking her delicious, homemade Polish dishes, such as golumpkies, blintzes, and pierogies - a family favorite. Most of all, she loved being a Mother, Mom-Mom, Grandma, Mee-Maw and Great Mom-Mom.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her sister, Agnes Rynkiewicz. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Richard and Linda, Judith and John Feltz, and Gary and Maureen; siblings, Anne Zombeck and Andrew Pasko; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, October 11, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel's Historic Church, 549 Route 520, Marlboro. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel's Mausoleum, Marlboro.
