Obituary of Catherine E. Jenkins

Catherine "Kay" Jenkins passed away on July 3, 2015 at Monmouth Crossing, Freehold. Born in Newark she grew up in Belleville, graduated from Belleville High School in 1941, and lived in Old Bridge and then Manalapan before moving to Freehold three years ago. She was a secretary for Gulf Oil in Newark for many years before joining the NJ Turnpike Authority in Hightstown, retiring in 1986. Catherine loved animals and volunteered at the Animal Rescue Force for over 20 years including every weekend at the rescue booth on Route 18, East Brunswick, and PetSmart. She was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Frank; her sister, Anna Tarasco, her brothers, Frank and Gus; and her nephew, Robert. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sally, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, July 6, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by interment at Shoreland Memorial Park, Hazlet.
