Obituary of Dennis John Frick

Please share a memory of Dennis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dennis John Frick, 65, of Freehold Township, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.

Dennis was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and raised in Colonia, the fifth of Charlie and Olive Frick’s seven children. After graduating from John F Kennedy High School in Iselin, Dennis joined the US Navy and served from 1977 to 1981, when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Engineman 2, having served aboard the USS Preserver.

After leaving the Navy, Dennis attended Lincoln Technical Institute earning a certificate in HVAC and moved to Iselin, where he began building a life with his love of 43 years, Kerrianne. After building a second floor on the house to make room for their growing family with the arrival of Justin Dennis and Allyson Shea, they moved to Freehold where they have lived for over thirty years. Dennis was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church.

To help support his growing family, Dennis worked at Heller Construction where he was employed for 35 years, rising from working in the field to the level of Senior VP.

Dennis was a lifelong New York Mets fan, traveling to Spring Training and all over the US to see the team play. He also loved traveling with his family outside the baseball season, particularly to Hawaii, Prague, and Crater Lake in Oregon.

Outside of sports, you could often find Dennis and Kerrianne at a concert venue seeing some of their favorite bands, including the Allman Brothers, The Who, and Eric Clapton. Every December, Dennis showed his inner Kris Kringle by building a Christmas village that won renown from everyone that saw it.

In 2018, Dennis and Kerrianne realized a lifelong dream of purchasing a shore house in Cape May, which he aptly named “Sweat Equity”. They could often be seen down on the bayfront at sunset, taking in the view.

Above all else, Dennis was a committed family man who put the needs of others ahead of his own. Dennis is survived by his wife, Kerrianne; son, Justin and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Desio-Frick; daughter, Allyson; and 6 brothers and sisters- Kathleen Kozar, Charles Frick III, Howard Frick, Linda Biezewski, Thomas Frick, and Rob Frick. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Frick Jr. and Olive Frick.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Sunday, March 10th, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Monday, March 11th at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to War Dogs Making it Home, wardogsmakingithome.org, or the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
