My name is Sandy Berger and I have known John Mc Cormack for close to 50 years. We both met and worked at Burlington Industries in the mid 60's and John was both a friend and a mentor.
Our families visited each other in Brooklyn and I remember for whatever crazy reason, their apartment on Harway Avenue, where they had a red cut velvet couch with plastic slipcovers. The good old days.
Over our working years together, we always stayed in touch, and John was able to set up an interview for me with the company that I have been with for 38 years. When John was working, we always met for lunch at least once or twice a month at either Ben's, or Simply Pasta. We both loved to eat.
John always worked at his pace and in his own special way. He never could be rushed to make a quick decision. He always thought through any problem he had. He loved to travel and loved his family more than life itself.
I always thought of John as Big John because he was a tall guy, with big hands, and tremendously big soft heart.
John, I will miss you dearly
